Weekly Homework

Think in English!
Talk in English as much as possible! Talk to your homestay family, classmates (Even if they speak your language, try and speak in English), Camosun staff, store employees, etc.

You need to write at least ten sentences about your adventures in Victoria each night. You will hand it in Thursday. Please proofread it carefully.
Poster Presentation: Your poster presentation is Friday, February 28.

Week One

Tuesday

1) Introduce yourself to the class tomorrow. You can use some of the information from the get-to-know-you activity we did in class.

2) Think in English!

3) Talk to your homestay family as much as possible!

4) Write ten sentences about your day. Think about 5W+H (who, what, when, where, why and how). Use your five senses (Sight, touch, taste, smell and hearing). These two weeks will go by quickly, and writing in your journal is a great way to remember all the great things you see and do! It is due Thursday.

Wednesday

1) Think and talk in English as much as possible!

2) Ten sentences about Tuesday and Wednesday in Victoria

3) Practice your "Victoria's Newest Restaurant" presentation. You and your partner need to talk for two minutes. You need to be able to say why your restaurant is special and why people should go to it. You also need to be able to describe the menu and make people want to buy the food.

Thursday

1) Think and talk in English as much as possible! When you see things when you are walking around, try and think about how to describe them in English. Talk to people in stores. It is their job to talk to you!

2) Write ten sentences per day. Your final journal is due Thursday.

4) If you have time, watch a TV series or movie in English. You can use subtitles to help you! Everything you do helps you improve your English!

5) What are your study goals? Speak English at Camosun? Do Duolingo for 15 minutes a day? Talk to your homestay for 30 minutes a day? Find fun and interesting ways to study!
